Easy to reach

Solna sits right next to Stockholm city. The E4 crosses the municipality from north to south and the E18 from east to west, so we can usually get to you without a long detour. If you are near the blue metro line, tell us the nearest station: Västra skogen, Solna centrum, Näckrosen, Huvudsta or Solna strand. It helps us find you. The same goes for Arenastaden, the shopping centre by Strawberry Arena, which opened in 2015.

Old suburbs, many apartment blocks

Solna grew out of several small suburban communities in the late 1800s: Hagalund, Huvudsta, Råsunda and Lilla Alby. Råsunda was different from the start. While other suburbs of the time were still rural, Råsunda was built with larger apartment buildings.

In apartment buildings, steel security doors that lock themselves when they close are common. A street door with a code ("portkod") or a key fob is normal. Tell us how to get into the building when you call. If the fob is inside your flat, a neighbour can often open the street door for us, or you can wait by it and let us in from the inside.

Students and newcomers

New to Sweden, maybe as a student or for a new job? Then:

• you don't need a Swedish personnummer for us to help
• a passport or residence permit card is fine as ID
• a rental or sublet contract on your phone shows you live there
• if you live in student housing, check if it has its own on-call service first
