Locksmith in Östermalm

Buildings from 1880 to 1930

Most of Östermalm was built between 1880 and 1930. The typical building is five storeys high, with a facade of stone, render or brick. In buildings like these, the flat doors we meet are anything from old wooden doors to modern steel security doors with a lock case and a cylinder, sometimes with an extra lock above. If you have two locks, tell us on the call which one is locked. It changes the job.

Security doors close and lock on their own. Step out to the stairwell for a moment without keys and you are outside. We open them every week, starting with non-destructive methods.

Northeast of Karlaplan the buildings are younger and mostly functionalist in style. Whatever the age of your building, tell us what your door looks like and we plan the opening from that. Between Sturegatan and Engelbrektsgatan lies Villastaden, with its own mix of buildings.

What to have ready

1. 1The address, with the entrance if there is more than one.
2. 2The door code ("portkod") for the street door. Many buildings switch to fob-only at night. If you can't let us in, maybe a neighbour can.
3. 3Your ID, or a note that it is inside the flat. We check it before opening, or right inside the door.

Price

Fixed on the phone, before we drive. A booked daytime opening is from SEK 1 295. Evenings, nights and weekends are priced on the call. A lock change is from SEK 1 495 with labour, plus the cylinder. No charge for distance. Card or Swish, receipt always. See prices.

Living in a BRF?

If you own your flat, it is probably through a housing cooperative, a "BRF". The lock on your own front door is usually your responsibility. If keys are lost or stolen, you can have the cylinder changed the same night. If the building uses a shared key system for the street door or storage, ask the board afterwards.

After a break-in, call the police first: 112 if ongoing, otherwise 114 14. Then we secure the door and give you a receipt for your insurer.
