Lock opening in Stockholm – without breaking the lock

We can come and open your door today or tonight, usually within 20–40 min of your call. The price is fixed on the phone before we drive, so you know the number before anyone leaves.

Our rule is simple. We try to open the lock without damaging it. Only if that fails do we talk about drilling, and only with your agreement and a price.

Why non-destructive matters

A lock that is opened cleanly still works. You lock up behind us and go to bed. A drilled lock needs a new cylinder, which costs extra and takes more time. So we spend the extra minutes on a clean opening. It is better for you and for the door.

Most standard Swedish apartment and house locks can be opened this way. Once we are at the door, a typical opening takes from a few minutes up to a quarter of an hour. High-security cylinders and some multi-point locks take longer.

How an opening goes

1. 1The call. You describe the door and the lock. No photo needed: wooden or steel door, one lock or two, a brand name if you can see one.
2. 2The price. We give you a fixed price for the call-out and the opening. You say yes or no.
3. 3The drive. A locksmith heads out. Usually 20–40 min.
4. 4ID and address. We check that you live there before we open. If your ID is inside, we check it straight after, just inside the door.
5. 5Opening. Non-destructive methods first. If the lock refuses, we stop and explain.
6. 6Receipt. You pay by card or Swish and get a receipt.

When drilling is the only way

Some locks are built to resist everything except drilling. A broken part inside can also block a clean opening. When that happens, we stop and tell you what we see. You hear:

• why non-destructive opening won't work on this particular lock
• what drilling involves and how long it takes
• the price for a new cylinder to replace the drilled one

Then you decide. If you say no, we don't drill. Common cylinders are in the van, so if you say yes, the new one usually goes in on the same visit. A new cylinder comes with its own keys.

Which doors we open

• Apartment doors, including the heavy steel security doors common in Swedish blocks
• Front doors on houses and terraced houses
• Storage rooms in the basement or attic (the "förråd")
• Balcony and patio doors that have locked from the inside
• Office and shop doors, for businesses that are locked out

We don't open vehicles and we don't do strongboxes. We work on doors.

Price, in short

A booked daytime opening during office hours is from SEK 1 295. If you need us in the evening, at night, at the weekend or on a public holiday, the price is given on the phone. A word on trust

Opening doors for strangers is a responsible job. Anyone can ring a locksmith and claim to live somewhere. That is why we always check ID and the address before the door opens.
