Yes, we come out after a break-in, at any hour, usually within 20–40 min of your call. You get a fixed price on the phone before we drive, for securing the door and changing what is broken.
First things first, though.
The order that works
- 1Police. 112 if it is happening now or you feel threatened. 114 14 if it is over. Write down the report number ("diarienummer"). Your insurer will ask for it.
- 2Photos. Before anything is touched, photograph the door, the lock, the frame and any damage inside. Wide shots and close-ups.
- 3Call us. Tell us what you see: a forced door, a broken cylinder, a damaged frame, a smashed window by the handle.
- 4Insurance. Call your insurer's claims line, today or tomorrow. Most Swedish home insurance ("hemförsäkring") has a 24-hour number.
You don't need to wait for the police to finish before calling us. We can be on the way while they are there. If the police want the door left as it is for a while, we wait.

We look at the door, the lock and the frame together. A break-in rarely damages only one of them.
- Forced cylinder. We remove what is left and fit a new cylinder. It comes with new keys.
- Damaged lock case. If the lock inside the door is bent or broken, we replace it or make it work again tonight where possible.
- Split frame. We secure the door so it closes and locks for the night. A carpenter may be needed later for the frame itself. We tell you what we see.
- Lost or stolen keys in the burglary. Even if the lock looks fine, change the cylinder. The burglar may have your keys.
Common cylinders are in the van. Anything we replace, you hear the price for first. Nothing happens without your yes.
Documentation for the insurer
After the job you get a receipt that lists what we did and what we replaced. Insurers in Sweden usually want this together with the police report number. Keep the old cylinder if we take it out; some insurers want to see it.
We can describe the damage in writing on the receipt. We don't say whether your insurer will pay. That depends on your policy.
Securing the door tonight
After a break-in, many people can't sleep until the door locks again. That is our main job when we arrive: a door that closes, locks and holds. Bigger repairs can wait for daylight. A locked door can't.
If you live in an apartment building, also tell the building. In a BRF (a housing cooperative), contact the board. If you rent, call your landlord ("hyresvärd") — the street door code may need changing, and others in the building should know.
What it costs
The price is fixed on the phone before we drive. A lock change is from SEK 1 495 including labour; the cylinder or lock is priced on the phone because it depends on your door. Evenings, nights and weekends are priced on the call. There is no charge for distance. More on prices.
Card or Swish on site. Businesses can pay by invoice. You always get a receipt.
When you are shaken
A break-in feels personal, and that is normal. Take it one step at a time: police, photos, door, insurer. If you are on your own and want company, ask a neighbour or call a friend while you wait for us.
If you are new in Sweden and unsure about the police report or your insurance, you can still call us first for the door. We tell you on the phone what the insurer usually needs from us.
