Yes, we come out for smart-lock lockouts too, usually within 20–40 min. The price is agreed on the call, as one fixed amount, before anyone sets off.
But first, the honest part: many smart locks have a way back in that doesn't need a locksmith at all. Try that before you call us.
Step one: power or the backup key
Many smart locks sold in Sweden have a way back in for when the batteries inside have died. What it is depends on the brand:
- Yale Doorman. Has contacts on the outside for emergency power from a 9-volt battery. Hold the battery against them, then enter your code.
- Nimly. Uses a mechanical emergency key instead. There is a small cylinder in the outside unit. Insert the key, turn it, and the outside handle engages. Nimly asks owners to keep that key somewhere outside the home.
- ID Lock. Check the manual for your model on your phone. Look for an emergency power point or a backup key.
- Glue. This is a motor that turns an ordinary lock from the inside. The normal cylinder outside still works with the key. If you have the key, use it.
A 9-volt battery from a late-night shop, or the backup key from a friend, costs far less than a call-out.
Step two: other ways in
- 1The app. If the lock is online, try the app. A restart of your phone can help. Check if someone else in the household can open it from their app.
- 2The key. Many smart locks still have a key cylinder. Is the key somewhere you can reach? With a partner, in the car, at work?
- 3The code. Wrong code too many times? Some locks block for a few minutes. Wait and try once more, slowly.
- 4Call us if none of that works.
What we do when we come
We look at the lock and the door. If the batteries are flat and emergency power didn't work, there may be a fault in the contacts or the electronics. If the lock has a key cylinder, we can often open that without damage. If it doesn't, we have other non-destructive methods that work for many models.
Then the ID check. We need to see that you live there, just as with any lock. If your ID is inside, we check it straight after we open.
Once inside, change the batteries. Most smart locks warn about low battery for weeks before they die. That warning is easy to miss.
If the lock itself is broken, we tell you. We can't repair every smart lock on site. Sometimes the best fix tonight is to get you in and let you contact the manufacturer. If it needs drilling or replacing, you hear the price before anything happens.
The code or the app stopped working
Some lockouts aren't about power. The code was changed by someone else. The app was linked to a phone you no longer have. A former partner or subletter still controls the lock in their app.

- Change batteries when the lock warns you, not when it dies.
- Keep a 9-volt battery or the backup key somewhere you can reach from outside, like at work or with a neighbour.
